We are committed to creating an environment where exemplary behaviour is at the heart of school life, so that all pupils can achieve their full potential. The aim of our behaviour policy is consistent with our wider school aims to develop young people who are kind and caring towards themselves, each other, their community and the wider world. We expect pupils’ behaviour and attitudes to embody the Gusford Rights and Values.
3 Rights - Right to learn, Right to safety, Rights to Respect
Values - Kindness, Honesty, Respect, Confidence, responsibility
Equal opportunity is central to everything we do at Gusford Primary School. We adopt a zero tolerance approach to child on child abuse, sexual harassment, sexual violence, harassment and discrimination of any kind. All staff and pupils are responsible for maintaining the highest standards of behaviour and conduct, while looking out for each other and always reporting unkind or discriminatory behaviour.

Suspension and Exclusion Arrangements
We want all children to be in school as often as possible as this provides the best learning opportunities. Occasionally some children's behaviour is so extreme that the school considers suspension or exclusion as a consequence of this behaviour.
Gusford is an academy which is part of the Active Learning Trust. It therefore follows the ALT Exclusion policy, in line with DfE exclusion guidance. The policy is available on the policy section on the school website ('Information' drop down then click on 'Policies').
